Household Recycling Centres
Residents of Staffordshire have access to 14 Recycling centres across the county and residents of Stoke on Trent have access to 2 within the city of Stoke on Trent (Burslem and Hanford). At the recycling centres, there are facilities to recycle your household waste including newspapers, magazines, telephone directories, low energy light bulbs, glass bottles, jars, fridges, freezers, scrap metal, car batteries, oil and much more. Download a copy of the Household Waste Recycling Centre leaflet for full information on the recycling centres in Staffordshire. Alternatively click on the links below to find out more about an individual recycling centre.
A small traders waste disposal scheme is now also running at Leek, Stafford and Cannock Recycling Centres. This allows certain trade waste to be accepted for a charge dependant on the amount and types of materials. For more information on the scheme please visit the Staffordshire County Council website.
***Update Monday 21st January – Normal opening arrangements have been resumed, however, with further snowfall predicted, some Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) may be subject to late openings, and temporary closures during the adverse weather conditions.
Every effort will be made to maintain normal opening arrangements (see below), but residents are still advised to call 0300 111 8000 before travelling to their local HWRC.***
*Please note that British Summer Time opening hours will apply from Sunday 25th March 2012.
